Lubricating oil and grease are generally referred to as "lubricants". The so-called lubricant, in a nutshell, is between two relatively moving objects and has the function of reducing friction between two objects due to contact. The lubricant produced by the lubricant manufacturer is a technology-intensive product, which is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons, and its real performance is the combined effect of complex physical or chemical changes. The basic properties of lubricants produced by lubricant manufacturers include general physical and chemical properties, special physical and chemical properties, and simulated bench tests.

Each type of lubricating grease has its common general physical and chemical properties to indicate the intrinsic quality of the product.

(1) [lubricating oil]: Lubricant oil (such as petroleum distillate or fat) produced by lubricant manufacturers

(2) [lubricant]: Oily liquid applied to the surface of moving parts such as machine bearings or human body parts. It has the functions of reducing friction, avoiding heat generation, preventing machine wear, and medical use. It is generally a product of fractionated petroleum, but also refined from animal and vegetable oils. Contains "grease". Generally non-volatile oily lubricant.
